Bernard M.jpg
Martenas G.jpg

About Bernard: Bernard simply loves to draw people funny! When seeing him entertain there is no doubt he is passionate about using his skills, which he has been developing since 1999. From Google corporate picnics to Major League Baseball games, Bernard has drawn at over 1000 events. He now lives in Portland, OR and can't wait to make you smile with his talent!

About Martenas: It all started in the 80s with a cartoon of a roadrunner drawn at the age of 5 years old. From there it was a love affair with Saturday mourning cartoons, comic books, and videogames. He’d draw anything he saw on screen or in real life, including people’s faces. He even made his own comics before the age of 18. During his 20s, he went to the Art Institute of Atlanta to get an education in graphic design, and pursued a career in graphic-arts abroad in Europe. He learned to hone his art talents & skills to become a caricature artist for a theme park... Six Flags Over Georgia. From then on, he would take his newfound skills on the road for events, seminars, and even lending it to charities; such as Atlanta children's hospitals & March of Dimes.Today, Martenas uses his homegrown talents, digital-art knowledge, and his renowned cartoonist skills to entertain people the world over. He is all about fun, personality, and a unique style with his caricatures; but also doing it with efficiency, accuracy, and skill. His motto…” it ain't a good caricature if it doesn't make you laugh, cringe, smirk, cry, or throw up.”Oh… and he still draws the occasional road runner!

ZZ TOP LIVE THIS SUMMER AT THE TOWN TOYOTA CENTER

ZZ TOP - Press Photo.jpg

Tickets on sale Thursday, May 10, 2018

Wenatchee, WA – ZZ TOP a/k/a “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” lay undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original personnel intact and, in 2004, the Texas trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, there are only three of them – Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill, Frank Beard -- but it’s still a remarkable achievement that they’re still very much together after almost 50 years of rock, blues, and boogie on the road and in the studio. The rock show is locally presented by STARR Ranch.

ZZ TOP’s music is always instantly recognizable, eminently powerful, profoundly soulful and 100% Texas American in derivation.  The band’s support for the blues is unwavering both as interpreters of the music and preservers of its legacy.  It was ZZ TOP that celebrated “founding father” Muddy Waters by turning a piece of scrap timber than had fallen from his sharecropper’s shack into a beautiful guitar, dubbed the “Muddywood.”   ZZ TOP’s support and link to the blues remains as rock solid as the music they continue to play.  They have sold millions of records over the course of their career, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas, have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms and are true rock icons but, against all odds, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done.  They’re real and they’re surreal and they’re ZZ TOP.

ZZ Top Tonnage Tour tickets start at only $47.00. Public on sale is Thursday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased in one of three ways:

  • Online: www.TownToyotaCenter.com
  • Phone: 509.667.7847 or Groups: Katie Atkinson, 509.888.7363
  • In person: Box office, 1300 Walla Walla Street

RODEO 101

Bullriding-  8 seconds and 2,000 lbs of terror! As dangerous as it is exciting, bull riders require balance, flexibility, quick reflexes and mostly an incredible mental attitude to step onto the back of a bull. Only holding on with one hand onto a rope which wraps around the bull is only half the battle. After the inevitable 'dismount', bullfighters stationed in the arena protect the rider. The cowboy wears a flak jacket and helmet (not required) Score is 50 points for the bull and 50 points for the rider.

Saddlebronc Riding- The classic event of rodeo. Born of cowboys taming wild horses.  The cowboy only holds onto a thick rein (rope) attached to the horse's halter. Every move must be synchronized with the movement of the horse for eight seconds. An outrider follows the action and helps the successful rider transfer to the pick up horse at full gallup. Score is judged 50 points for the horse and 50 points for the rider.

Bareback Riding - Compared to riding a jackhammer with one hand.  This event requires the strongest cowboys in rodeo. The riders hold onto a 'suitcase handle' on a strap on the horse's shoulder with one hand. The cowboy leans back and kicks his knees up to retain balance with the goal being eight seconds of pulling against gravity. The Popeye forearms of rodeo! This event endures the most injuries in rodeo. Score is judged 50 points for the horse and 50 points for the cowboy.

Barrel Racing - One for the ladies of rodeo. Nothing is as mesmerizing as a horse at full gallop. The rider runs a cloverleaf pattern consisting of turns around three barrels (a knocked over barrel is a five second penalty) and then a furious sprint to the finish! Fastest time wins.

Bull Poker - A measure of dollars and sensibility. Has to be seen to be believed. Four 'poker' players are seated in the center of the arena around a card table. Then a 'joker' is dealt-only this joker is a fighting bull. The last player to remain seated wins the dollars-the sensibility is still in question. Players wear flak jackets and helmets.

KIDS ACTIVITIES

RODEO 101

Bullriding-  8 seconds ond 2,000 lbs of terror!

Gabriel Iglesias - Fluffy Breaks Even

Gabriel Iglesias - Fluffy Breaks Even

Born in Chula Vista, California, Gabriel Iglesias is the youngest of six children, raised by a single mother. Growing up, the family lived in Section 8 housing in Long Beach, CA. It was during his childhood that he developed a strong sense of humor to deal with the obstacles he faced. In 1997, he set out to hone his comedic skills, and performed stand-up anywhere he could find an audience; including biker bars and hole-in-the-wall joints. Gabriel’s stand-up comedy is a mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring his personal experiences to life. His unique and animated comedy style has made him popular among fans of all ages.

Iglesias is one of America’s most successful stand-up comedians, and performs to sold-out concerts around the world. He recently had the distinct honor of being one of the few comedians to headline and sellout Madison Square Garden in New York, The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and The Honda Center in Anaheim. Iglesias is currently on the road for his #FluffyBreaksEven concert tour!

Fluffy Breaks Even, a non-scripted comedic docu-follow series co-starring Gabriel’s eccentric tour mates and fellow comedians Martin Moreno, Rick Gutierrez, G Reilly and Alfred Robles, is currently in the 2nd season on FUSE TV (Thursdays at 10/9 CT). Audience members have an opportunity to see what it’s like for Iglesias to eat on the road, add up the calories and then try to burn it off and “break even” with a different restaurant and workout in every episode.

In 2015, Gabriel co-starred with Channing Tatum in Warner Bros’ Magic Mike XXL, reprising his role as Tobias. Gabriel lit up the small screen on the ABC sitcom Cristela and is currently working on his own semi-autobiographical ABC pilot titled The Fluffy Shop. Other feature film credits include co-starring roles in A Haunted House 2, and his voice can be heard in numerous animated films Norm of the North, The Book of Life, The Nut Job and Disney’s Planes. Gabriel also starred in the theatrical stand-up concert comedy film, The Fluffy Movie. For the past three years Comedy Central has aired Iglesias’ hit series Stand-Up Revolution. The cable network also premiered Gabriel Iglesias: Aloha Fluffy in an unprecedented two-night comedy special to over 15 million viewers. The special was a follow-up to his previous DVD specials, Hot & Fluffy and I’m Not Fat...I’m Fluffy, which have sold a combined total of over 2 million copies. He plans to tape his next hour long comedy special later this year.
