Wenatchee, WA – The Town Toyota Center brings a new, unique and formal affair to the arena this Winter! Over 240 guests from around North Central Washington will enjoy a Winter Ice Gala presented by Numerica Credit Union held on Friday, February 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Toyota Center.
The entrance of the arena will be decorated with birch trees, welcomed with dozens of lights and candles as guests enter the building. Glen Isaacson & Friends, a string trio, will play as guests sip on a local wines and sample hors d’ oeuvres of puff pastry with stilton, candied walnuts and honey and new potatoes with crème fraiche and golden cavier prepared by Executive Chef, Richard Kitos. Randy Dawson photography will be available for formal photos, and silent auction bids will be taken to support the Wenatchee Wild Foundation.
At 7:00 p.m., guests will be escorted into the main arena where tables will be fully dressed and set on decked ice to allow enough space for skating in the middle of the Gala. Full bars will be housed in the goalie boxes and surrounded by ice sculptures, lights and décor. The formal dinner will include petite filet of beef tournaedos with crabmeat and gorgonzola cream sauce, gourmat sides and a specatucular one-of-a-kind dessert. Local Jones of Washington, Saint Laurent and Ryan Patrick wines will be available.
Master of Ceremony, Dan Kuntz, KPQ-AM news radio morning personality and Miss Washington 2012, Mandy Schendel will introduce skaters and singers for the evening. Following dinner, the ice show directed by former Disney on Ice professional and Town Toyota Center Skating Diretor, Louise Kapeikis will begin as guests will be only inches away from the ice! The show will feature Ice Dance pair skaters, Jean-Luc Baker & Kaitlin Hawayek sponsored by Blodgett Construction Associates and Puget Sound Energy. The ice dance team took the gold medal in both Junior Ice Dance events at the Ice Dance Championships and the silver medal while representing Team USA at the Junior Grand Prix in Germany. Other performers include, Gigi Stephens, violin, Stacia McRae, vocals, soloists and group numbers from the Wenatchee Figure Skating Club.
The purpose of the Winter Ice Gala is not only showcase the arena, but raise funds for the Youth Arena Enrichment fund held at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. Executive Director, Beth Stipe of the Community Foundation, will launch the fund and ask for pledges during the evening. The fund is established to provide youth the opportunity to Learn to Skate and/or attend a show who might not otherwise be able to afford to do so.
The eligible applicants are schools and/or non-profit organizations that support youth and enrichment activities are able to apply for all or a portion of funding and must reside within the Public Facilities District of the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events center in the incorporated areas of Chelan and Douglas counties and/or the cities of Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Cashmere, Chelan, Rock Island, and Entiat, and must serve underprivileged needs of youth or schools.
Winter Ice Gala tickets are $100 per person and seating is limited.
