LITTLER NAMED AS FINALIST FOR CJHL COACH OF THE YEAR

The Canadian Junior Hockey League today announced the five finalists for their “Coach of the Year” award, which is presented annually and determined through voting by the 10 leagues that comprise the CJHL. Among the five finalists is the Head Coach / GM of the Wenatchee Wild, Bliss Littler.

Littler, who was also recognized by the BCHL this season as the Head Coach of the Year, guided his team to a league best record of 45-9-4, earning the Ron Boileau Memorial Trophy for the top record in the BCHL. The Wild also led the league in both power play goals (75) and shorthanded goals (15), as well as power play and penalty kill percentages. Wenatchee led the BCHL with a staggering plus-159 in goal differential, and were unbeaten in regulation on home ice (26-0-2) during the regular season. Fifteen of the players who played for Littler last season hold Division I college commitments, with more of them sure to come.

Littler and his staff are in Missouri this weekend for a tryout camp as the Wild prepare for their tenth season in the Wenatchee Valley, and the sixth in Wenatchee for Littler, whose coaching career dates back to 1996.
