The fund was established in 2012 to provide youth the opportunity to Learn to Skate and/or attend a show who might not otherwise be able to afford to do so. In the past 9 months, over $7,900 was awarded to area schools and non-profits benefiting 100 students. "We are very excited and thankful for this Arena Youth Enrichment grant and the opportunity it presents for our students. After school programs provide extended learning opportunities for students and help them to make real world connections with their learning. This is a unique opportunity for students to take ice skating lessons and be introduced to a fun and safe physical activity that promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle,” stated Brian Flones, Superintendent of Wenatchee School District.
